1 week check-up.
Today was Adelaide's one week check-up. She was 7lbs 4 oz at birth, 6lbs 13oz at discharge from hospital, and she's back up to 7lbs 1oz. Everything else checked out fine.
Nap Time!
Here she is, fading out for a nap, and a bonus nap picture, too. I picked up this sleeping mat for her at Target. $20, made by Boppy. It has removable side bolsters that keep her from rolling over. I know it's not that time yet, but she rolls a hip and gets almost 2/3 rolled over and it scares the crap out of me (call me an overprotective dad if you want). The pad is also inclined so it is easier for digestion for her post meal naps. But a this age, aren't they all?

Adelaide checks out her new activity mat.

First diaper change.
You'd think by the time a guy closes in on 35 years on this planet, he'd have changed at least 1 diaper? Nope, not me. There was always a convenient excuse not to do it. The best being, "Hey, it's not my kid." No more. No longer able to skive off, it's time to pay the piper. Not only was it poopy, but mid change, she let loose a HEALTHY stream of pee. At that very moment, I thanked my lucky stars we didn't have a boy, due to my proximity to the incident. Unfortunately, the exciting event was not caught on film. Here's what was.
By the way, after reading about some prude getting someone arrested for child pornography charges for putting pictures of their kids online in the tub, I have decided to block out anything that could be construed as indecent. Sorry, but that's the world we live in anymore.

Keeping wierd hours, Pt 2.
Here I sit, 1:46a.m. Courtney has gone into the hospital with cramping and nausea, etc. I am waiting for her to call to let me know whether she's coming home, or if I'm going there. Apparently Webkinz kicks people off for maintenance between 12:30 and 1:00, and for who knows how long. I keep trying but to no avail. Grrrrr.

Keeping weird hours!
Ok. It is 4:45 in the morning. I have already been downstairs and had a bowl of cereal. I find myself waking up before John lately and going to bed a regular hours. I am NOT a morning person. Maybe Addie is. Yesterday it all caught up with me. I had to take a nap. I laid down around 10 only to wake up at 2:30 with a heart attack!! I have to get Annika from school at 2:35. I run downstairs, grab my keys and throw on shoes. I get in the car and call John. He has already left Hobart and was on his way to get her because he knew I didn't wake up. Isn't he wonderful. I told him I would get her. He turned around and drove all the way back! I win for having the best husband!! I am pretty sure that from now on when I nap, there will be alarm setting!
